Introductions
Hi, I’m Amanda, a Christian doula serving the Kitsap County area. I am wife to my college sweetheart, Josh, and mother to four delightfully boisterous boys, whom I home-educate. We also have three little souls in the arms of Jesus. Born and raised in Georgia, I have now called Washington home for more than 13 years. I am deeply grateful for my four amazing home-birth experiences and for the incredible support I received from doulas and midwives here in Kitsap.

When I’m not teaching or wrangling my boys, I love to sing, read, crochet, and watercolor paint. And, to keep up with the rest of my family, I’ve even learned to skateboard!

Why a Doula?

For many years, I have felt called to this work. From the moment I first heard the term doula while watching The Business of Being Born, to the day I experienced the birth of my first son, I have been deeply drawn to all things birth. I’ve spent years reading, learning, listening to birth stories, and reflecting in awe—not only of the process itself, but of the One who designed it.

Alongside this deep interest is a genuine desire to support and encourage women—especially in one of life’s most vulnerable and powerful moments. I would be honored to come alongside you as a steady presence, a calm voice, and a source of reassurance. My goal is to help you understand the labor and birth process, know your options, and feel confident and at peace in your birth space.

I believe that thoughtful education and compassionate support are foundational to a meaningful birth experience. Your birth story will be written on your heart for years to come. Being invited into that story is a privilege I hold with great care.

I am trained through the A Woman Who Serves birth doula program.
“The word ‘doula’ is taken from the Greek meaning ‘a woman who serves,’ referring to a trained, compassionate support person who stands beside you through pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum — offering emotional, physical, and informational care from a non‑medical, loving, and supportive perspective.”
